Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities:

Supplier Quality

1. Establish a supplier quality sourcing strategy which will assure consistent, on time, quality products.
2. Conduct supplier surveys, selection approvals, and audits for all commodities and materials.
3. Develop and maintain a supplier monitoring program where periodic audits are conducted on a predetermined schedule.
4. Analyze supplier performance data, generate supplier quality reports and recommend corrective actions related to process or product deficiencies.
5. Establish a supplier corrective action program that will drive issues through root cause resolution.
6. Develop effective audit sampling plans tailored to specific products and materials.

In Process Quality

1. Develop, maintain and apply quality requirements for processing components and other materials into stock.
2. Design and implement methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products.
3. Review supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure that it contains the necessary criteria and provisions to permit effective inspection and testing of products.
4. Analyze in process data and reports and recommend corrective actions for procedural, product or process deficiencies.
5. Conduct process audits to ensure products and processes remain within their specified quality levels.
6. Analyze test and field performance data and coordinate continuous improvement efforts.
7. Develop effective audit sampling plans tailored to specific products and materials.
8. Create documents which will support product process and workmanship requirements

Qualifications:

1. BS degree or equivalent in a technical discipline
2. 5+ years quality engineering experience in an electronics environment.
3, ASQC certification preferred
4. Familiarity with IPC-610, IPC-6011 and IPC-6012.
5. Good understanding of soldering, assembly practices and acceptance criteria.
6. Knowledge of sampling procedure MIL-STD-105E.
7. Working knowledge of statistics, particularly statistical process control (SPC).
8. Knowledge of reliability principles, practices and design of experiments.
9. Experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma is desired.
